London Tube Expansion Plans
As one of the largest transit systems in Europe, behind Moscow and Paris, the London Tube is a large transit system allowing travelers in London to get to their various destinations. There are more than a billion trips that are taken through the Tube each year – with more than four hundred miles of track throughout the system and therefore, man individuals often wonder where the expansion can occur throughout the London Tube.
There have been very few expansions in the last eight years, since 1999. The most recent expansion has come in 2008 and has come with the expansion of a transit station at the Heathrow Airport, through terminal five.
Through the London Tube, there has been expansion through the networks that are available for Mobile phone coverage. This will ensure that the travelers using the transit system are able to access their mobile devices through voice, as well as data throughout the entire transit system. There are currently tests which are being completed to ensure that the entire transit system is accessible through mobile phones.
Through 2025, there are expansions that are being planned for the Hackney/Chelsea line to decrease the congestion that comes from the lines throughout the city. As one of the busiest sections of the city, this expansion can help to reduce the business that is evident through this part of the city. Although this expansion is years in the making, and will allow the overflow from extremely busy parts of the line to be solved.
